Dear Mary,
Sorry to be so slow responding to your note of July 29th. I continue to recover from a rather serious medical set back [sic]. However, I have sent in our reservation for the reunion. Hope we actually make it. Will depend in part on what kind of accommodations are provided. Am a bit handicapped.
I really can’t think of anything I can provide for the exhibit. BMC was a great experience for me and it certainly had a vast influence on my life. But I didn’t learn to draw, sing, dance, paint or play the oboe. I learned to be a pretty competent business man and, I think, a good citizen. Have kept a life long [sic] interest in the arts, music and golf. Two wonderful wives, four fine children. But, I am without anything to exhibit.
I am sure that the Black Mountain College I attended (1933-1938) was a very different place from the BMC that is now so well known. I look forward to getting a better understanding of the latter. I look forward to seeing you in October.
Sincerely
Norman
