From the Vault: Recent Gifts to the Collection

From 2018 to 2020, the Permanent Collection of the Black Mountain College Museum + Arts Center grew by hundreds of items. This sampling highlighted recent gifts that enhance the understanding of Black Mountain College alumni or faculty, their contributions over their lifetimes, and the lasting influence of BMC as a community. Works by Karen Karnes, Jorge Fick, Jack Tworkov, Faith Murray Britton, Sewell Sillman, Gerald van de Wiele, and others demonstrate the dedication to creativity and experimentation that characterized the individuals who formed that community.
