A turning point in children's literature by 1946 BMC faculty member Jacob Lawrence. Full-page color illustrations by Lawrence depicting the life of Harriet Tubman, paired with verses by Robert Kraus (added after the illustrations to match.) The original artwork used for the book was produced in 1941.
